Well,
I guess I'll start with a little bit about me. I work for First Tennessee
Bank in Chattanooga, TN. I've worked there since 1989. My title is
Enterprise Technologist. I am responsible for the computer equipment
for the Chattanooga and Cleveland regions which encompasses about
30 locations, including 2 main offices. In the past, I have managed
the account analysis function for our business customers, generated
and distributed custom reports using FOCUS. I was also the coordinator
for our ExpressLine, automated account information, and our PC Banking
product.
I was born and raised in Cleveland, TN, a mid-sized town of about
35,000 about 28 miles North-East of Chattanooga. It's a great area;
close to the Smokey Mountains, the Ocoee River where the 1996 Summer
Olympic Kayaking event took place, and within 3 to 4 hours of several
major cities, including Knoxville, TN - home of the UT Volunteers;
Atlanta, GA; Nashville, TN; and Birmingham, AL. My family history
in the area goes back to the founding of the city, with, at one
time, 2 major industries being founded and run by my family: Hardwick
Clothes Co, Inc. founded in 1880, and Hardwick Stove Works, founded
in 1879, now owned by Maytag Corp. On the other side of my family
tree, there is Johnston Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
What do I like to do. I like working with computers, though it
can definitely be addicting. Photography is an on again, off again
hobby. Use the buttons above to see some of samples. They aren't
anything fantastic, but some are pretty nice, if I do say so myself.
Music. Now there's a MAJOR interest. I majored in Vocal Performance
at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, graduating in 1989.
I love to sing and just about all my waking moments have music in
them, either via radio, stereo or just thinking of a tune. I sing
in the Chancel Choir of Broad St. United Methodist Church here in
Cleveland. I also ring in the Advanced Handbell Choir and play piano
and organ to some extent. I have recently begun singing with the
Cleveland Scream Machine, the Cleveland chapter of the Society for
the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing
in America (SPEBSQSA).
I collect glassware. Nothing in particular, no certain design or
manufacturer, just whatever catches my eye.
I also love to travel. I travel to Walt Disney World in Orlando,
FL at least once per year, twice if possible. I've gotten to know
several people that work there in the clubs on Pleasure Island.
Walt Disney World is STILL a GREAT VACATION spot for the entire
family!
Some other links that may be of interest to those of you either
in the Cleveland, TN area, or planning on visiting or moving here,
are listed here.
Well, enough of this for now. I hope you keep checking back. I'm
hoping to expand this, adding some more photos and various things.
